Well, as much as I hate to say "I TOLD YOU SO", I did. Just looky here:http://frogcatchers.burnamville.com/2008/04/fear-pious-not-god.html Yep, this whole polygamist issue has gone south. I knew it would. I am not some sort of a genius but I have been around long enough to notice when civil rights are being overlooked. Ripping hundreds of children out of homes has got to be a bad idea. Ripping them out with no evidence, just alot of speculation- not to mention religious prejudice... I knew fireworks would fly. Good ole CPS always doing their best to be unfair and a huge disservice to the children they supposedly serve. Boy, and to think Dr. Phil got his name mixed up into this one too... I tried to tell 'em but nobody listens to me! I am glad. This restores some of my faith in our judicial system. I understand they want to protect children but we all must understand that it is a matter of protecting children to do what is BEST FOR THEM. That would mean leaving children who are not being abused WITH THEIR PARENTS! One simply has to consider how they would feel if they knew they were innocent and had their child ripped away "in their best interest" by a large committee of IDIOTS who think they are above the law. I have dealt with children's best interest, law, and civil rights- remember, I am divorced. My only sadness comes from the fact that these children have already suffered. They had to be ripped away, scared to death- only then could anyone decide HEY- BAD IDEA.
Stupid. The whole thing is so dang stupid!
I truly never realized how much religion rules this world. I was very naive about it's influence over EVERY SINGLE THING. What we learn in science has been dictated by churches. The ability to even enlighten children to the varying views of creation vs. evolution is hidden and forbidden territory. Our laws are based around the Bible even though church and state are supposed to be completely separate. Why else would Gay marriage be illegal and unrecognised. ( By the way I am celebrating the recent turn over in California allowing gays to marry again. HOORAY!) Yesterday McCain was on the Ellen show talking about it and darned if I didn't miss it. I am going to have to go find out what he said!
Okay, let's have some Christian talk...
How many of you knew that Ronald Regan was the first president of the U.S. to extend "diplomatic recognition" to a church? Did you know it was the Catholic Church? Doesn't it seem that would be against our government/church separations not to mention a violation of the first amendment.
Amendment 1
Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of
the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress
of grievances.
Comment: The First Amendment
guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of association
and assembly. It also protects the rights of citizens to worship as they please
and the right not to be forced to support someone else’s religion. The First
Amendment also provides for the right to demand a change in government
policies.
I have also read much about the Contra scandal that Regan supported... never mind, Oliver North and the whole arms selling- I am talking about how John Stockwell testified to Christan Contras dragging men out of their homes, castrating them in front of their wife and children, raping women, ect. ect. I have also read that much of the whole Contra movement was funded by U.S. churches collection plates and "World Hunger Funds". Does any of this sound Christan?
Here are some websites where you can read about these horrors for yourself:
In a December 1984 memo to his boss, CIA Director Casey, Gates recommended US
airstrikes on Nicaragua, to destroy as many of its tanks and helicopters as
possible, and weaken that nation's left-leaning but Democratically-elected
president, Daniel
Ortega. Gates wrote that
the government of Nicaragua, closely allied to communist Russia and Cuba, was
"unacceptable to the United States and that the United States will do everything
in its power short of invasion to put that regime out", and further recommended
that the US withdraw diplomatic recognition of Ortega's government, and instead
recognize the Contra rebellion as Nicaragua's "government in exile".
Do we really have a clue what our government does? What our donated monies really go to support? Why does so much of the world hate America and refuse our support? WHY DO THEY FEAR US SO (if we are so good and helpful)? In today's news we have:
Do we have any right to think we are so supreme in our democracy and so lucky for our "freedoms"? We are victims of acute dumbing down by our media. Can you say PROPAGANDA?
The more I know the less I feel proud of. I am shocked and ashamed of some of our beliefs and actions. I am further assaulted by the ignorance of most American citizens. Watching the news is not the best bet for educating yourself. It is a sure way to become programmed to propaganda. We need to research. Do our homework- me included. Let's get a grip on reality.
Democrats and Liberals... may I say to you, if McCain does not become president I shall not cry about it. I think perhaps some very good change just may come of it. If it knocks religion a bit more out of our law and government that's okay by me. If Gay rights are given and supported I will celebrate too. I really think at this point ANY change is welcome. It is time to prioritize our agendas and get on with the business of this countries running. Too much conservatism has created WAY too much attention on things that truly have no business in our courts... abortion, gay rights, prayer in school... these are personal preferences that can easily be handled individually if we all just keep our noses on our own plates. Tolerance and intelligence can ease the burden of all this ridiculous quabbling. There are some issues that just don't belong to government... we all need to GROW UP! Those judgements belong to God. Leave it an issue between you and Him.
Here's my opinion for the day... Live and let Live!!!
Be well!

I commend you for having the gumption to tell the truth. Most will turn a blinds eye and really won't care about the truths of our Government and will simply want to keep thinking we live in Paradise here in the good ole USA. Most will NOT do any research for they really don't want to know, much like what they teach at Church....don't learn of any other religions, you might be tempted to change your mind about your RELIGION, your COUNTRY.
