Listen-

I just love a kooky and funny blog. I wanted to sound a bit scattered and nutty and I think I sure did hit my mark! Today I intend to be a bit less kooky and a bit more "me". I am going to share a bit more of my ego with you today. Eckart Tolle's definition of Ego is any part of you that identifies with form, it is the physical side of you, and the side that is conditioned by your past. I have shared lots of ego here - political views, religious beliefs, the love of pajama's.... oh gosh... lots of stuff. Today I am going to share some of the inspection of this "Ego" and what I have come to see about myself.

Awakening to your Life's Purpose has brought about a new process of thought for me in many aspects but one of the most profound was the love of shopping I have and what it really means. Eckart says that our egos are never satisfied and so when Mrs. Ego goes shopping and buys lots of stuff she is actually trying to enhance herself- her image to the world, or how she feels about herself. When I find something I "just gotta have" I am trying to fill up a bottomless pit with items that make me feel good about myself but then since the ego is never satisfied- I am only happy with my new items for a very short while and then I NEED something new to enhance myself again. Well friends, this is how you end up with WAYYYYYYY more stuff than you need and even lots of stuff you no longer care anything about. By becoming "attached" to our belongings we have come to think of those things as parts of us. If we lose those things, they burn up in a fire, or someone steals them- we are absolutely crushed because we feel we have lost a piece of who we are. The new idea is to become aware of your worth as a living creature and find your wholeness within your body. Stop identifying with and trying to enhance yourself with worldly junk.

Suddenly shopping is not so fun. I am now at a place where I am able to think- I DON'T NEED THAT! Walking into my closet is now like a shopping adventure in itself because I am finding and using all the things I bought and never even wore. I am using my imagination to mix it up and utilize the things I have. What was old or not EXACTLY what I wanted has now become "workable". I have to say it is even kind of fun to create something trendy and fresh with all my old junk. WOW!

I am taking the time to enjoy the moments more. Stop and listen to what is going on around you. Really listen... what do you hear? Before I heard my kids being loud... now I hear the sound of children playing. I hear birds singing, RB snoring peacefully... I hear my life. I identify these sounds as being a part of me and of my existence and they suddenly have alot of warmth, comfort, and happiness all wrapped up in them.

This book takes time to process. You have to sift through and find the little treasures that mean something to you. You have to dig deep and see what resonates with you and which things you just don't "get". I believe you can find spiritually uplifting messages in all sorts of places. I believe the truths in life are hidden and it is almost like a treasure hunt uncovering them. Sometimes the messages are in the strangest and most unlikely places to your everyday mind. Sometimes the messengers say all the wrong things that make you realize what is right.... Be open to life and you just might be surprised at the things you begin to see. I always am.

Take then time to see the world through a child's eyes. It is worth the effort.

I hope you have a great day and hear lots of new comforts as you go along....

Until next time.....
